Heres my idea for a grand finale to the Fairly Odd Parents series.Unlike the later Live-Action Adaptation that was aired on TV in 2011, this one would have been animated. The details arent concrete, but the plot was this: Timmy, feeling sorry for the other kids whom Vicky has babysat, wishes that every child had a fairy godparent.
Meanwhile, since there is no one to guard them or stop them the pixies and Anti-Fairies team up to take over the world. I dont think FoP will stay dead forever, but the last seasons were so bad it led to a storm of negativity surrounding it that will take years, decades perhaps to clear out. Butch Hartmans last project besides it, Bunsen is a Beast, was a complete and utter failure as well and likely contributed to his forced retirement by Nick. Invader Zim and Hey Arnold also saw brief revivals after spending over a decade off the air. So I can see Nickelodeon maybe one day approaching Butch Hartman for a revival, or at the least, a Netflix movie. Will it be good Hartman has only gotten worse with age, the epitome of an out of touch boomer, but he also seems to have improved his connection with his fans via his YouTube channel, so maybe if given a chance he will be allowed to give FoP fans the closure they almost got with Channel Chasers and Meet the Oddparents. In a new video, Fairly OddParents CANCELLED, he explores the five different times Nickelodeon canceled Fairly OddParents, one of the networks most treasured series, at its peak. And they say, Well, were canceling your show because theres no sponge in it. I said, I could put a sponge in it, but theres already a show with a sponge and a starfish. I can make my show about a sponge and a catfish, and theyre like, No, no, thats dumb. ![]() Puppy, but Fairly OddParents remained a constant project for Hartman that Nickelodeon kept eventually calling back. The series ran on Nickelodeon up until last year, but Hartman is looking forward to what happens next with his characters. This isnt the first time that Hartman has talked about the undeniably hilarious back-and-forth, but the animated video is pretty cute. A made-for-TV Hey Arnold movie came out last year, and Invader Zim and Rockos Modern Life will grace the small screen once again, proving that nostalgia is a powerful marketing tool. Hartman told Polygon at San Diego Comic-Con in July that hes positive Nickelodeon will want to do something similar with Fairly OddParents or Danny Phantom he just doesnt know when. ![]() Maybe theres a Fairly OddParents spinoff coming out in the future, maybe theres a Danny Phantom one.
